Master Radovan, The Adoration of the Magi

On the left are some of the angels in attendance at the Nativity scene below. On the right is the left side of the apex of the inner band that surrounds the Nativity scene. That scene includes the Magi as they approach Bethlehem.
As in the earliest images of the Adoration of the Magi, the three stand in a straight line before the enthroned Virgin Mary and the Christ Child, the first of mage over his gift. Following more recent practice, the three are differentiated by age, the oldest one closest to the child, the youngest last.
The two younger magi hold their gifts on cloths that cover their hands, like Simeon in images of the Presentation in the Temple. Another 13th-century Adoration of the Magi, in Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, has the same feature (also with age-graded magi). But I have not seen it in other images from before and after the 13th.
